Getting rid of oversized technical rooms for the municipality Møre & Romsdal
O&M procedures were simplified, and the transport of technical equipment could be done without the use of steep staircases.
The municipality Møre & Romsdal used Consigli both to check the quality of the tender documents and to optimise plant rooms in a 6600 m2 sports arena. The project design was mature and had gone through several iterations of pre-design.
After the municipality's own quality assurance, Consigli still unveiled several remaining elements of risk and missing items in their tender documents. The results were promptly presented to the customer to rectify this before contracting a contractor.
The existing solution for plant rooms for the sports arena was two rooms located underneath the ceiling on opposite sides. Consigli'soptimised solution unveiled the potential for centralising the plant rooms on one side of the gymnastics hall so that O&M procedures are simplified, and the transport of technical equipment can be done without the use of steep staircases. This also removed the need for a 40 m2 walkway above the gymnastics hall, which enables a reduction in ceiling height which may result in considerable savings.
